First of all: It’s not worth it to risk your life if you don’t have to.
– If your opponent uses a weapon to rob you, give him/her what he/she wants.
– If your opponent pulls a knife, and you can run really fast, then run away.
– If your opponent pulls a knife in a discussion, try to calm him/her down.
Second: Just if you can’t get out of the attack, you have to commit.
The following videos showing you how to defend yourself if you have to. You have to train these techniques a lot and also under stress for a higher survival percentage in the real scenario.
Handgun Disarms – A Reality Check
– Scenario 1: Front of Chest
– Scenario 2: Front of head
– Scenario 3: Middle of back
Knife vs Bare Hands – A Reality Check
– Scenario 1: Upward stabs (Underhand grip)
– Scenario 2: Slashes (Underhand grip)
– Scenario 3: Slashes & Stabs (Underhand grip)

Disclaimer: Be careful with the techniques you have learned in your martial art school. Most of them are totally useless against an opponent that isn’t an absolute douchebag.
